First Road Trip

We finally headed off in the van for the first time in February 2012 to free camp at Inskip Pt near Rainbow Beach. Feeling a little nervous towing for the first time in 30 yrs we had an easy drive up the Bruce Hwy turning off at Gympie with a lunch stop at the turnoff to Rainbow Beach. Winding our way through the speed traps to our campsite a right turn into "See Wak" we had our first hard lesson - always walk in first. With help from Al & after a lot of too-ing & fro-ing we got out of our tight spot, headed for the open area & set up for a wonderful week with Fraser Is as our view. Lots learnt about camping without facilities, especially the need to limit water use. Good friends made during the week, enjoyable happy hours & relaxing chats immersed in the warm water. Only down side was the sea lice just loved me! Looking forward to the next trip to Cape York!
