Finally hit the road this morning - destination- Mundubbera Blazeaid Camp at "The Big Red Shed". Here to help out with some hard yakka on a few farms affected by floods over the past year.
Tomorrow off to an orchard to clean fruit trees with a few other travellers who have volunteered their time. Looks like a mixed bunch so should be intresting.
The countryside is so green from all the rain & warm weather. After turning west from Gympie their is evidence of the floods in fences & trees. Passed through Gayndah, a lovely old country town with typical wide streets. On leaving the town we crossed the Sth Burnett River, a huge river bed so you can get an indication of the amount f water flowing during floods.
Off to the big red shed for dinner with the others for a Sheperds Pie, a "restaurant with a difference".
